I was pleasantly surprised to see that several of my images were used in Blitz Weekly last week. I even got the cover. Very pleased. It’s always a great honor to have your work published.
New website that some of you may be interested in…

It’s called the Artist and Model Network. A very new site that is gradually adding new members. Looks to be a great site for industry networking and has a few nice features that other sites do not currently offer.
Check it out when you have a chance.

Eric Johnson at the House of Blues (Dallas, TX)
by AndrewCCM on Aug.29, 2009, under Musicians, Personal Opinions
Well i went to see what I consider one of the best guitarists on the planet. Didn’t have my gear with me, but managed to get a couple of shots with a point and shoot. It’s really too bad as I had one of the best seats in the house. Of course, I paid to watch the show and not “work”….so it was probably better that way. It was a great show, but he didn’t play 3 of his biggest hits (and my favs)…”Zap”, “Trademark” and “Cliffs of Dover” were all missing from the set, yet he played several Hendrix and BB King tunes.. Still a very good show. The opening act, Jack Andrews was enjoyable as well…

Shooting Byron Nelson this week.

The Pro Am started off on a sad note with Phil Mickelson’s wife Amy being diagnosed with cancer. My thoughts and prayers go out to their family and I wish her a speedy recovery.
After 7.5hrs out in the sun…I became sufficiently burned. I forgot sunblock!
Stay tuned for more throughout the week.
MLB excitement and disappointment
by AndrewCCM on May.10, 2009, under Personal Opinions, Sports
Well.. For the first time in a long time I am so excited about the Texas Rangers. 1st place, pitching seems solid and young players looking extremely good.
Too darn bad that the Texas Rangers organization has chosen to decline my media agency and several others credentials to cover the game this year. It makes ZERO sense to me. Of all teams that need publicity, the Rangers are high on that list. Our agency has covered them for years and continues to cover pretty much every other MLB team across the country. MAJOR LEAGUE DISAPPOINTMENT for me. I live in the city, helped pay for the stadium and just dying to shoot them. I covered the other Hicks team this past year, so I guess I shouldn’t complain too much. I do plan to work with the AA Frisco Roughriders when I can…and perhaps the Grand Praire Air Hoggs to get my baseball fix.
Been shooting my son’s 7yr old coach pitch games, but it just isn’t the same. LOL
Hope to be working the upcoming PGA Tour events so stay tuned for some new golf images.
I also hope to get back to blogging more often, even if it’s Little League.
Hit with the a hockey puck AGAIN!!!!
by AndrewCCM on Mar.12, 2009, under Personal Opinions, Photography Equipment, Sports
So…I go and test out my 16-35L after getting it back from repair (see below)…and lo and behold what should happen? I get hit with the puck AGAIN! HOWEVER…This time it was in the ARSE (well technically in the left hip) and I had the guy on the 1st row beside me beer explode on me too. To top it off, I didn’t even realize what had happened and he grabbed the puck from under my leg.
The staff ran down to make sure HE was ok and never even looked at me!!!
I have a small bruise, but it doesn’t hurt much at all. Ironically, If it would have been 6 inches closer to the glass, it would have hit my 5D2 with that very SAME 16-35L in my bag! I am leaving it at home from now on when I shoot NHL games. Well on the bright side…my Think Tank Urban Disguise 60 bag now smells like Bud Light.
Good times.
